The XT-6 was built for long-distance trail. The Gore-Tex version adds a waterproof, breathable membrane between the mesh and the lining.
The Quicklace, the Sensifit and the Contagrip sole stay those of the racing model. That changes the use: the Gore-Tex keeps rain out and gives up some breathability in heat.
