What it is, and who it is for
A pearl white base, a smoky blue Swoosh. The mudguard follows the Swoosh.
The Essential version keeps the original proportions, mesh on the panels and suede on the overlays. Shown in 1987, the Air Max 1 was the first shoe to leave its Air unit visible, after an idea Tinker Hatfield took from the Pompidou Centre.
