Virgil Abloh took apart ten silhouettes from the American brand in 2017, leaving the seams showing and adding text in quotation marks on the sole. This neon version came out the year after. The orange tag stays clipped to the lacing. It reads like a factory label left on by mistake.

This sneaker runs yellow and black on leather. Neon leather pales in sun and stores best away from direct light. The quoted text sits on the midsole, in black capitals. The exposed stitching is part of the designer’s deconstruction. Nike says this model runs large: take half a size down from your usual.
