What it is, and who it is for
The 1972 Cortez is Nike’s first model. Bill Bowerman drew it, with a wedge sole that lifts the heel to relieve the Achilles tendon.
This version turns the upper to textile, with baroque brown suede overlays. Flat rubber sole, no cushioning. Nike says this model runs small: take half a size up from your usual.
