Sunset is the colourway of the first Air Max Plus, out in 1998, whose gradient set out to reproduce a sunset on the Côte d’Azur. It is the most sought-after version of the line in France, where the model has stayed popular without a break since it came out.
The orange ages well and yellows little. The white sole, on the other hand, patinates fairly fast and is revived with mild soap on a soft brush, without soaking. The lasting popularity of this colourway in France explains why it has come back to the catalogue almost every year for twenty-five years. Nike says this model runs small: take half a size up from your usual.
