The name points to pale sandstone while the actual shade leans firmly to fired earth, a long way deeper than the beige you would expect. It is one of the few warm shades the Swiss brand On puts in this range, almost always built around cold neutrals. The perforations stay visible up close.
Deep shades fade in the sun on fabric this thin. Drying in the shade after each outing slows that down markedly. Terracotta sits well with neutral kit and stands out against greenery. The peak stays short. This colourway came out for the first time the previous spring.
