The print only reads from close by and disappears entirely in a photograph taken from a distance, a choice that runs against the brand’s logo t-shirts. The Y-3 label stitched at the nape then becomes the only visible marker, which suits the spirit of this line. The cotton stays thick and hangs straight.
Cream dirties mostly at the collar and washes separately. A cold programme protects the quiet print on the chest. The Y-3 line came out of the meeting between the Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto and the German brand. The printed motif shifts a little from one piece to the next with the tension of the fabric.
